When Amazon launched their new Appstore, they turned to storytelling to spread the word—and trusted Yum Yum Videos to bring that story to life.
We created a video driven by dynamic motion graphics and incredible visuals, but with a story at its core. A father, playing video games with his daughter, needs the Appstore across various devices to keep the fun going. This powerful combination of motion graphics, mixed with a touch of humanity through the father and daughter, creates a compelling narrative that draws viewers in and keeps them engaged from start to finish.
When MedVector came to us at Yum Yum Videos, they needed a way to communicate the complexities of clinical trials and drug testing. Instead of diving straight into technical jargon, we opted for a playful, yet metaphorical approach.
We used the concept of a board game to highlight the challenges: delayed approvals, rising costs, and missed opportunities to save lives. Then, we shifted to character-driven storytelling, showcasing real-life patient scenarios where MedVector’s platform truly makes a difference.
By using whiteboard animation, we simplified a complex subject, making it both engaging and easy to follow. And the results speak for themselves—MedVector raised over $3.5 million in just a few months with this video, proving the power of a well-crafted narrative.
Explaining how a digital grid works and clearly conveying how it can benefit users is no easy chore. However, the folk a Cisco manage to successfully do it thanks to the educational power of explainers. This is one of the best explainer video examples because it takes us on a journey, breaking down what the solution is and what problems it solves in a way that’s incredibly easy to understand.
Sometimes, going over all the wonderful advantages your product or solution offers requires more time than the average 90-second explainer. And that’s fine! Just look at this product explainer video example. It’s almost 3 minutes long, yet it effectively catches and keeps your attention until the end.
What I found really interesting about this explainer video example is how it focuses on concrete data from the company’s success cases. Since BCG specializes in helping marketers achieve their goals with a data-driven marketing approach, the video’s concept is an excellent choice!
What can I say about this piece? The animation style in this promotional video is just so stunning that it keeps the viewer’s eyes glued to the screen from start to finish. Moreover, the explanation is so simple that even if you know nothing about microgrids, like me, you can easily grasp the basics in under two minutes.
Animated explainer video examples can be of immense help when looking for inspiration on how to convey how your app or software works while explaining how it can help users. I particularly liked that there’s even a short and straightforward description of how to get started with the app.
Here’s another contestant among the best explainer video examples regarding animated characters or objects helping brands teach others the ins and outs of intangible products. What makes this piece even better is the use of the brand’s colors to make it easily recognizable and memorable.
This is one of the best examples I’ve come across because it effectively covers all the essential facts about the service while showing concrete examples of how the solution can be implemented. Pretty neat, right?
When it came time to create a video for Rhombus, we at Yum Yum Videos aimed to push the boundaries of what an explainer video could be. Despite being a few years old, this video still feels modern, thanks to its bold, creative design and striking motion graphics.
Instead of following the typical format of product explainer videos, we chose to take a more abstract approach, using dynamic visuals to convey complex concepts in a fresh and engaging way. The result? A video that not only explains Rhombus’s features but also leaves a lasting impression on the viewer.
This video is a great example of how a creative narrative—backed by cutting-edge motion graphics—can transform a technical topic into something memorable and impactful. It’s a perfect representation of how we at Yum Yum Videos take storytelling to new heights in the world of explainer videos.
If you believe that animation might not be the right choice for your brand’s personality and image, then you need to check out this animated example. Fusebox Energy is a tech company that offers a scalable software solution to optimize electricity usage, and their piece boasts a minimalist and sleek style that goes perfectly with their own aesthetic.
This is definitely one of the best animated explainers I’ve seen, and you know why? The music. Yes, there’s no doubt about the animation quality, but pay attention to how the music perfectly matches the script progression and adds another dimension to it without interfering with the narration.
When Accelerant reached out to Yum Yum Videos, they needed help telling a complex story—how their commercial insurance platform supports companies of all sizes in a dynamic, relatable way.
As we always say at Yum Yum Videos, story is everything. So, our challenge was to translate an abstract B2B service into a visual journey that would resonate emotionally and be easy to remember.
We began by introducing characters that represented CEOs and decision-makers, then transitioned into stylized buildings of different shapes and sizes to symbolize various types of businesses. The story circled back to the people behind those companies—those burdened with handling insurance—visualized through metaphorical imagery, like being trapped in an hourglass filled with paperwork.
Through clever visual storytelling, we built empathy and clarity. By the end, we brought everything full circle: businesses don’t work with businesses—they work with people. And that human element is at the heart of effective storytelling.
This is one of the best explainers showing how you sometimes don’t even need a voiceover narration to convey your message. However, I think it’s important to remember that if you choose this route, you should include captions or text to help your viewers understand your message.
Animated explainers allow for a lot of creative freedom. Just look at the amazing style of this example; it’s so unique that the piece becomes instantly memorable. This goes to show that regardless of the industry you’re in, your video style can be tailored to match your tone and image.
What I liked about this particular explainer video example is how it’s part of an animated video series. Yes, you read that right! If you want to cover different aspects of your product or service, you can create several explainers in the same style to make each topic easier to understand than if they were all crammed into the same piece.
I know for a fact that solid storytelling is crucial for a great product advertisement video, and this example excels at that. Stories are what make a piece engaging and truly memorable; you just need to find a way to turn your explanation into one!
There are some specific cases in which your script doesn’t need storytelling, like in this explainer video example by HP. The animation style is quite simple, but what makes this video different from the rest is how the company directly addresses the viewer and tells them all about their service’s key benefits. This goes to how you don’t necessarily have to go for the highest explainer video pricing to get good results.

We created this compelling explainer for our friends at Foundation Partners Group, a leading provider of innovative funeral and cemetery experiences. The death of a loved one is, without a doubt, a sensitive topic that can be incredibly hard to address. However, an animated explainer can help explain even the most delicate topics in a tactful manner.
Here’s another great example of how we use storytelling at Yum Yum Videos: Doctor Spigit.
This whiteboard animation blends corporate messaging with humor through a quirky, metaphorical storyline. We created a narrative around a scientist—Doctor Spigit—conducting an experiment with sheep, using this playful setup to highlight a serious challenge: “herd behavior” in internal decision-making.
Rather than just explaining the product, we told a story that captures attention, builds empathy, and leaves a lasting impression. The use of metaphor made the message more accessible, and the humor kept it engaging from start to finish.
It’s one of our favorite explainer video examples because it shows how even the most abstract business ideas can be turned into relatable, entertaining stories that connect with viewers.
The client loved it so much, we ended up shooting a testimonial with them—which you can check out here: Doctor Spigit Testimonial Video.
Sometimes, less is more — as long as you have an effective CTA! In this piece, HelloSign, an eSignature solution, has chosen to focus on just the main advantage of their proposition. This way, they can clearly convey their message and generate curiosity in just a few seconds. But what seals the deal is the Call-To-Action at the end, encouraging the viewer to try out the software. And that’s what makes it one of the best explainer video examples!
Some of the best Saas explainer videos aren’t focused on breaking down a product or service, but rather on sharing key information people need to understand them better. In this piece, Adobe explains the difference between a digital signature and other e-signatures so their viewers can better understand what Adobe Sign is about.
When Earthworm approached Yum Yum Videos to create a nonprofit explainer video, the challenge was clear: how do we make people feel the urgency of climate change in a way that’s educational but still engaging?
We leaned into visual storytelling. The majority of the video was built using a fixed-camera perspective, showing how different environments transform over time—from peaceful farmland to sprawling industries and, ultimately, to disaster-stricken zones affected by floods and wildfires.
Rather than relying heavily on voiceover, we let the imagery tell the story. That subtle narrative thread—watching the world quietly unravel—leaves a lasting emotional impact. It’s a reminder that the time to act is now, before it’s too late.
Recognize – Mixing Real Stories with Motion
At Yum Yum Videos, we believe storytelling can take many forms—and this live-action explainer video for Recognize is proof of that.
The concept was simple: show how companies can recognize and reward employees virtually, in a meaningful way. So, we built a short narrative featuring two employees and their manager, capturing how appreciation can happen through a digital platform that rewards people with real and virtual perks, like dinners and experiences.
To bring the digital world to life, we layered motion graphics into the story—letting the technology feel intuitive, visual, and playful without losing the human element. This blend of live-action and motion graphics proved to be the perfect combo to tell a fun, relatable story while keeping the emotional connection front and center.
I think this is the best explainer video example of how you can make live-action pieces more interesting by featuring the CEO or key team members to explain the mission and vision of the company. This can humanize your piece and give it a more authentic feel.
In this example, we can see how live-action videos work perfectly to demonstrate how an app works and how to use it. But other than that, I liked how this piece’s script makes the message more relatable to the audience.
When Upgrade approached Yum Yum Videos, the challenge was clear: how do you turn checking and credit accounts into something emotionally engaging?
We answered that with a story—one that takes viewers on a fun vacation through the mountains, where our protagonist earns rewards and points along the way thanks to her Upgrade accounts.
By turning financial products into a lighthearted adventure, we showed how storytelling can turn even the most technical topics into something memorable, relatable, and genuinely entertaining.
Another perfect example of how, at Yum Yum Videos, we use strong narrative to make brands connect on a deeper level.
Caddipay is a “buy now, pay later” service that allows users to make automatic payments on different platforms. In this incredibly short live-action piece, Ashley, a furniture company, explains how to use Caddipay in checkout and what benefits it brings. And they did so in just 15 seconds of footage!
Zendesk Chat is a service that allows businesses to chat with web visitors in real-time, and they’ve chosen to build their explainer around the concept of “live customer service.” For this, the live-action explainer style was the best choice to go into how the service works while keeping the content entertaining.
And speaking of entertaining content, let’s take a look at this piece, one of the best explainer video examples about apps. In this instance, we get a fun approach to learning how an app works. It’s one of the best things about explainers, being able to inject your message with humor to better connect with your audience.
While Duolingo is not discussing a real service in this example, it’s still one of the best pieces I’ve ever seen. Once again, we can see just how versatile explainers are, providing you with all kinds of tools to engage your audience and delight them while conveying your message.
This one is also an excellent example of how explainers help convey complex information about a service, but what I enjoyed most about it is how the live-action footage makes the story relatable and easy to connect with.
You might wonder what, exactly, makes this one of the best examples, and the answer is actually pretty simple. This piece builds an emotional connection with the audience by tugging at their heartstrings while keeping the tone light and even entertaining. This way, they manage to catch the viewer’s attention to then deliver the message.
Who says great storytelling needs characters on screen?
At Yum Yum Videos, we believe a powerful narrative can take many forms—even in its most abstract expression. When StockCharts came to us, the challenge was clear: explain complex financial tools in a way that feels emotional and intuitive—without using human characters.
So we told the story through a single point of light. That light becomes an investor’s journey, navigating market volatility, signals, and uncertainty—until finding clarity and control with StockCharts.
This project is a perfect example of how we use storytelling as a strategic tool, even in highly visual and abstract formats. Because at Yum Yum Videos, it’s not just about how it looks—it’s about what the story makes you feel.
At Yum Yum Videos, storytelling is at the heart of everything we do.
